Well, you know, they deserve it. Sony is giving hackers a really hard time lately.

Psshhh, I didn't do anything wrong, I just wanted to watch Netflix.

Anyways, once this is all said and done and one day my PS3 possibly has CFW, it will be worth gold.

Of course I will only wait so long.

You do know that when the CFW gets released Sonys just going to release a FW update to counter that one. Then you will have to wait a few more weeks for another Custom Firmware and Sony will release another FW update again which will leave you waiting and waiting and waiting everytime they do it. You may aswel give up and just enjoy your online.

You must not have followed the PSP scene have you? Once CFW is out there will be plenty of ways to bypass the need for future updates and still have access to PSN.

the playstation 3 is not the PSP..CFW may not even work without some type of chip like an I_ _ _ C_ _ S

Which even Geohot know's.

Uh, the chip you are talking about only allows for him to downgrade and upgrade at will, it adds nothing else to the PS3 at at the moment is not needed if someone wishes to gain access to a custom firmware if Geohot did happen to create one. They would just need to be at a firmware most likely 3.15 a below.

That chip has been around for a long time now.

I would have mentioned the chip name but I am sure if that is allowed, but I know which on you are talking about.

um it does more than just that my friend!

and we are talking about the same chip...

and no I do not think it would be a good idea to name it on the board..

You are also aware that he just recently purchased that chip right? After he already hacked the PS3 and created his custom firmware that re-enabled Other OS.

I am also aware that it is a versatile chip that can be used on more than just the PS3.

Here is something written by Geohot after he showcased his CFW.

"It's possible this CFW will also work on the slim to actually *enable* OtherOS; I'll know when my ******* gets here."

You know what the **** means.

So you are partially correct at the moment as it is possible that at the moment Slims may require a chip, but currently people who are below 3.21 would not need one.

Just like how 360 users don't need one, Wii users don't need one, PS2 users in the early days didn't need one, PSP users didn't need one, etc...

By the way, if any of this is against forums rules please let me know because I will stop.
