FFX-2: FFX is one of my favorite games in the series and X-2 crapped all over it. It took the world of Spira and destroyed it. Yuna's character was completely inconsistent and I knew I was in for hell when Yuna broke out into a J-Pop song in the beginning. The sad thing is the game had excellent game play.
Star Ocean IV: This is my most disappointing JRPG of this generation. Unlike FFXIII, I was actually looking forward to SOIV. The voice acting was terrible. The story wasn't very good and Lymle was just too much for me to stand. I probably would have finished it if it wasn't for the freezing issues. I thought they would have fixed those for the PS3 release, but my brother rented SOIV for PS3 and it still freezes. WTF Tri-Ace!!!
Oblivion: One word boring. Oblivion was one of those games that looked like perfection on paper but the game itself just lacked magic. It sort of reminded me of GT3 in a way. It as much prettier than it's predecessor, but the predecessor was a better game.
FFXIII: It's early, I still maybe able to make myself finish it. Honestly I don't know though. I've never had a game that I had low expectations for disappoint me....until FFXIII. Even as a fan of FFX, XIII was too linear for my taste. The game is monotonous and poorly paced. You battle until you get to a cut-scene and then repeat the task. I don't understand how a game in development for so long can feel so incomplete. It's a shame because Sazh was a surprisingly good character and Lightning was anything but a female Cloud. She was actually a good lead character.
