Oblivion & KOTOR 1/2 are the only WRPG's I have really enjoyed (KOTOR for its story, Oblivion for its open world & guilds) I disliked Fallout 3 & Dragon Age Origins ended up as a cliched mess.....I felt it got worse as I played on. JRPG's give me timeless stories, WRPG's just haven't done that. In terms of more advanced......what is more advanced? A branching storyline and choices you make or fun & innovative battle systems. I would say the latter and JRPG's have that! |
Thing is JRPG battle systems aren't anymore innovative than WRPG battle systems. They both diverged years ago and have been evolving since. In fact the battle systems in WRPGs have more variety in terms of game mechanics and viewpoints than JRPGs. Otherwise we'd still be playing very slow ATB battles JRPGs and annoying dice rolls in WRPGs.
