Yes, they're in the process of moving to ever smaller and smaller chips. Technology improves every gen, and the costs of production get smaller. That's why you can buy a PS2 for 120€ nowadays, even though they were initially 300€ and still sold at a loss.

Why are you making such a big deal out of this?
