Monolith said that "in prior games we were focusing on the story, that didn't work lol! so now we're making a game that goes 'back to the roots of the genre' ".

It seems to me like they want to throw away anything that made prior games great, and so, unless i'm proven wrong (by the game having a great plot) I refuse to get my expectations high for this one.
