Only Xenosaga: Episode 2 had bad gameplay mechanics. Episode 1 & 3 were great (especially Episode 3's mech battles). The storyline was fantastic and very deep and KOS-MOS >>>>>>>>>>> most jrpg female characters. She was too awesome. It wasn't as good as Xenogears though (but then again, what jrpg is).
