As far as VC vs MMAC, I would say go for the VC versions if you don't mind paying more. The emulation quality is far better (original resolution, no blur filter, no sound issues) and the button layout actually works (Atomic Planet screwed up the A/B placement mapping on the GC pad, and it's not adjustable). The VC releases really are flawless, you get what you pay for in a sense...
You don't get MM7, MM8 or the arcade games, but honestly they're not that good really And chances are, we'll see all of them except MM8 on VC eventually anyway.
