Okay, I did some speed runs to test out the different weapons, I only did it on the great Jaggi though, didn't want to deal with a potential head ache Rathian against kurrepekko especially since I didn't look around for dung.
Anyway here it goes my personal best times which should be indicative as to which weapons I'm best with or maybe which weapons are just easier to use for the great Jaggi fight.
All times are from engagement
1. Switch Axe - 3 minutes on the nose.
2. Long Sword - 3 minutes 21 seconds
3. Hammer - 3 minutes 53 seconds (I'm not that great with this one)
4. Great Sword (No Charges) - 4 minutes 10 seconds
4. Great Sword (Charges) - 4 minutes 40 seconds
5. Heavy Bow Gun - 5 minutes 30 seconds on the nose.
6. Sword and Shield/Mid Bow Gun/ Light bow gun - All around the same amount maybe 10-12 minutes.
Sorry to lance users , I don't use those.
For those wondering about the disparety with 6 to the others on Great Jaggi, I'm not very good with the kinds of ammo supplied for the guns vs the ammo used for the heavy bow gun.
The Sword and Shield has never been my thing unless it's against a big monster.
I'm going to put up some more vids in a bit.
Also since the game is 14 days off, I'm going to add some more content to the main page and hopefully get sets of vgc teams going for each Hunter Rank, we'll see how that goes.
