do the other tv manufactures do it though??our samsung was under waranty when we had problem with it.So i really don't know.The process was much easier with sonyc compared to samsung since they sent people to our home instead of us taking it to a centre. Sony was not greedy.That was the surprising part for me.

I don't know, but now I know Sony have good customer support for their TVs. I have a Sony TV and I am very happy with it, and this story will help convince me that my next TV should be Sony
