The XBox 360 shipped 38.7 million units by the end of 2009.
The PS3 sold to retail 33.5 million units by the end of 2009.
That's a 5.2 million gap.
The XBox 360 shipped 600K less units in 2009 than in 2008, if XBox 360 sales drop again by 600K in 2010 and the PS3 slim is able to achieve 15 million sales for 2010 as expected by many the PS3 will have overtaken the XBox 360 by the end of this year by a few hundred thousand units.
