Unless the XBox 360 or PS3 gets a (fairly) major price reduction and is in the $200 price range I anticipate that Grand Theft Auto 4's sales will be much lower than previous versions ... GTA has typically sold very well to young male "casual" gamers (as in, buys 1 or 2 games per year) who are not likely to spend nearly $400 to buy a game and a system to play it on. I suspect that it will have sold 6 to 8 Million copies by the end of 2008.
This puts it into the range where Mario Kart (a great "cross over" game), Super Smash Bros. and Wii Fit (if it catches on like brain training) could surpass it in sales.
A long shot to add to the list would be Animal Crossing for the Wii ... although home console versions have not sold that well, it did sell over 8 Million copies on the Nintendo DS
