I don't get it, how did Gamasutra come to these numbers? A PS360 game costs $60 US, publisher profits are 35% according to the article, so that's $21. Now if it costs on average to develop a PS360 game $15-30 million (not including advertising...), so that should be roughly 750k to 1.5m to break even (not including advertising...), not 500k-1m ?
