A curiosity: adjusted for inflation, the NES would have launched at $390 or so.

But also remember that the Gamecube launched at $200, so $250 was a increase in price and Nintendo might be able to maintain that price for another generation; and then increase to $300 (or $3,000 depending on how high inflation is) in the following generation.
