Yes. I do have some knowledge of how the games industry is. I worked in the games industry. And every game we made had to be better than the last. Licensed or "major core".

Excuses can be made for anything.

The chances of Conduit 2 being better than the original are slim. I wont be buying Conduit 2 on the first day like I did with the first. But I will be watching the info on the internets.


As has already been pointed out, licensed games - no matter who you work for - are quickly developed, often on a very low budget and are often given an immovable release date. A developer and publisher don't have the luxury of having the chance of producing a game better than their last one. It's a production line and a quick and easy earner, and that's why the vast majority of licensed games are a load of old bollocks lol.
