You are mistaken, according to VGChartz there were more than 600 thousand more PS3s on the shelves than XBox 360s by the end of last year.
Personally I think for the end of March 2010 it's pretty obvious, that the XBox 360 overall had way more units on the shelves than there were PS3s (shortages in various big and smaller countries).
