Expect the numbers to be even higher. There could be as much as 2-4 million PS3's "on shelves".
It doesn't seem to be so much a byproduct of more being on shelves, but that for some reason Sony still isn't quite reporting shipped the same as everybody else.
There latest shipped numbers from last quarter didn't even seem to gel when it came to PS3, PSP or PS2. Not just with Vgchartz, but with EVERY tracker. Heck from what I hear we're about 2 million higher then NPD when it comes to NA.
Don't you remember how stupid it got here not too long ago? Back when the bans were threatened?
It was actually mentioned a lot, but may have been drown out by the bullshit. Best guess is, Sony may be counting replacement systems as shipped. Or at least that sounds like the best guess to me.
