Yes, I said in the past the Linux support was great on the PS3 for getting your hands on the Cell processor in a cheap and easy way. Linux on the PS3 allows for access to the SPUs and provides the needed development tools.

When the PS3 slim was introduced, I said the loss of Linux support wasn't a major issue for the platform as the vast majority of people would not use this feature (not everyone is a programmer).

The programmers who are serious about Cell development should get a PS3 development kit, but IMO it was good that there was an easy and cheap oppertunity to evaluate the Cell for those who cared.

Don't like this opinion? I don't care and move on please.
