Don't expect a hardcore old school shooter, it's easier. There are only twelve stages to beat so completing a full game shouldn't take long if you survive. The longevity of the game comes from trying to get the highest score possible. The longer you survive on one life, the higher the multiplier. Using the special bomb attacks also reduces score each time.
The game looks fantastic and I don't mean it has crazy graphics. The style is very simple but beautiful. It plays like no other shoot 'em up ever and it's easy enough for ppl who don't play this type of game to try it.
Other than Everyday Shooter and Super Stardust HD, this has to be the best downloadable game on PS3. The music is great, sounds like 16 bit era music done with current sound (especially boss music).
Highly recommend this to shmup and non-shmup fans alike.
Really hope (but doubt) they bring this to US/EU.
