But what are the games going to offer that the wii games don't already? That's what you guys are not thinking about. These people don't care about graphics or quality gameplay, they enjoy the wii because it is a bit of fun every now and again. Why would they spend cash on a new console when the wii satisfys their gaming needs while they do not care about better graphics or gameplay? |
How about because the new system offers game-play that isn't possible on the Wii? Or how about because the new system has several exclusive games that these gamers want that aren’t available for the Wii?
A gamer doesn’t have to care about graphics to be interested in 6 player split-screen Mario Kart; they don’t have to care about the processing power that makes the new features in their favourite games possible; they don't have to care that advanced hardware was required to implement the new user-interface that they're excited about; and a gamer doesn’t need to care about anything beyond the fact that the new "Wii Fit" (or whatever) is entirely exclusive to Nintendo’s new system.
Or to put it another way, just because Sony and Microsoft have been unable to draw these gamers interest with how they use advanced processing power doesn’t mean that Nintendo can’t.
