Like I said in my first post, you need to trick people into buying it. Most people aren't going to want to shell out any money for it, no matter how good it is. It's expensive and redundant of another console that has a bad reputation already for most PS3 owners.
So, you pull a MS. You bundle it with all your consoles, make people be required to purchase it, or you make one of their favorite games require the device, or something like that. If you don't go all out pushing the product from day 1, it's not going to go anywhere. The reactions here show me one thing. When people see the tech, they are very excited about it, but ask those same people "are you going to buy it" and they say "if it has good games" which really means that the device might flop. It's my opinion, but most of the people here are already heavily invested in the console, and very excited about promoting and supporting it any way they can. If you can't even get these people to firmly commit to a purchase, then what luck are you going to have with the common PS3 gamer, who gets their parents to buy their games for them, in spending 100 bucks on a gimmick they already bought 3 years ago?
No matter how good your BC is with the device, and no matter how good your casual Move Sport mini game is, you're not going to get any casuals, and your core gamers are going to require a significant quality lineup which requires the device to play it.
Thus, the move is imo, not going to be a hit, needless to say, unless they find a way to trick or force people into buying it. Casuals aren't going to buy PS3s to play the move, and the core audience needs many games that require the device to play them. It takes too much time to amass such games unless you have them ready at launch. By the time they are released, momentum and development projects for the device would have dwindled, as it begins its slow descent into obscurity. I see very little chance of it succeeding. There is no healthy casual market on the Playstation, like their was on the Wii, when the Wii Fit was released. However, the balance board sold off the power of the game it was bundled with, just as the Wii did with Wii Sports, while the Move has nothing to sell off of(because the core audience is much harder to please than a casual audience, and new IPs don't do to well, usually, and Sony isn't going to waste a hugh IP on the launch of the Move, which from what I've seen, they are treating as more of a side project, plus it's just not as easy to develop core games with universal appeal to your whole target market like it is to a casual market, IE: exercise game, tennis game, ect).
This is also the reason that the success of Natal is limited, but again, MS is going to do a better job forcing, and/or tricking people into buying this, as well as a better job of promoting the device. Another thing to take into account, is the fact that MS is billing the Natal as legacy hardware, meaning PCs will use Natal, and the next gen console will probably have this system built in. The Move, on the other hand, will probably also have some itteration of itself in the next PS console, but Sony is never gonna push that, simply because Sony is afraid of mentioning to the general public the possibility that the PS3 might some day end, and be replaced with a new model. Sony wants to get a couple years of success under their belt before they even start thinking of a new console. I would too. Next gen they will no longer have the dominant brand head start, and if it starts too early, Sony will be coming off momumental gaming losses from this financial disaster of a generation. Sony needs to extend this gen as much as possible, and while MS would ideally prefer to do the same thing, were they to release a new Xbox next year with Natal built in and entirely new hardware(probably containing BC and FC), they would really put Sony over a barrel in the years to come.
