I suppose, it hadn't really occured to me. Still, I'm not a fan. It would have helped if Samus was a deeper character, I'm not a fan of silent protagonists.

Still, they set up the place as their sacred sanctuary, and some entries into the Chozo Lore even say exactly why they're doing it.
