Rainbird: your pointer should never go off-screen in Metroid Prime. Go into the Options and set the pointer sensitivity to "advanced", it will solve your speed problems.
Otherwise I can't offer you anything. If MP1 isn't your cup of tea, try MP3. If that isn't, then sell the package.
