Happened to me with Sapphire. Then even moreso with Diamond. Never finished it, and right now, I don't see myself buying another Pokémon game ever again, unless some changes are made and the series becomes fresh again. It's just gotten too boring, predictable and redundant to me after, what, 6, 7, 8 (?) iterations. (Let me count that, just to be sure, R&B, Yellow, G&S, Crystal, R&S, Emerald, LG&FR, D&P, Platinum, and now HG& SS... dang, it's just too much 
)
Maybe it'll become exciting again with the 3DS, maybe not. We'll see.
