Galaxy 2, aside from this, should start rapidly picking up preorders. We are now just under 10 weeks from its release and with Monster Hunter Tri being the only other big game coming out more and more will start putting down on the game.
But like NSMB Wii, Mario is a big mainstream game as well meaning there will be a lot of first week buyers that don't preorder the game (or preorder it on the final week).
I'm not sure what to expect of first week, but it should easily do more than 500k on its first week in America and maybe as high as 1 million. We'll see how it plays out.
