| megaman79 said: It is an interesting comparison in media coverage. Nintendo, being the HUGE success they are, gets tons of anticipation and mainstream coverage on their 3D console announcement. Sony, ultimately due to the last 4 years, is barely welcomed with their 3D innovation. |
Nintendo presents a 3D that will be available to all (and guaranteed support from it being default in the new system)
Sony presents a late gen patch that will enable people with $3000+ recent TVs to play modified (as in lesser quality to enable 3D processing) versions of their games in 3D.
So everyone Vs a select few.... why does it surprise you that the enthousiasm is not the same?
In reality, sony is not offering a better deal than buying a high end PC and 3D vision, the difference being that with the high end PC, you don't even compromise graphical quality and there is a ton of games supporting 3D vision already, with a few designed with it in mind (batman and metro).
I don't even see how you could talk of innovation, because with all the cross PC/PS3 games, a bunch of the PS3 ones that would turn 3D are already available in 3D on PC...(so it's really only worth it for PS3 exclusives...)
