I think its very likely that 3DS will have a stronger start than the DS, for these reasons:
- Nintendo has learned a lot about how to attract the mass audience since 2004
- PSP2 will not pull away developers in the early going the way PSP was doing at first
- Developers will not be as hesitant about investing in the 3DS because Nintendo is being absolutely clear that this is their nextgen handheld instead of muddying the waters with talk of a "three pillar strategy"
- Developers will not fumble around wondering what to do with 3D the way it took them a couple of years to figure out what to do with the second screen.
