I for one don't think Sony and/or MS is about to leave this market. I DO however think that Sony may learn a very expensive lesson in this round and make PS4 closer in spec to PS3 to keep costs down as the bleed factor for them now is a Very Bad Thing 
.
As for MS, they have a bucket so full of money they could actually take losses forever if the shareholders let them.
And, lets face it, if either of them leaves the race it's bad for us, the consumers. Competition is good.
