Right now you lose money once you pay tax for the new unit, and then pay shipping to sell it. Also up until this week, if I wanted a PS3 I could buy a new one no problem with a tiny bit of searching. Im sure people's intentions are not to profit off the PS3 by selling it on ebay, but to buy it to enjoy the bevy of new games recently released at least in 2010 . The majority of retail sales are still brick and mortar, so if a system is not in stores, its not available. Maybe newage shoppers will take the extra time to go out of their way to find a new system and spend the 50+ bucks above MSRP...but not the average consumer.
