Well, I don't think it's that simple... I'd say DS1 was only "disappointing" while DSE a legitimate "bomb" (ie: DS1 likely underperformed while DSE likely lost actual money), but I'd also say DSE was conceptually flawed from the get go and horribly mismanaged (spinoff of a no-name IP, in a vastly overcrowded niche genre, with basically zero promotion) and EA's basically used it to (again) publicly damn the Wii for mature content and "core" 3rd party sales. As soon as "guided experience" was known, the gaming community pretty much willed this title to fail, and EA really didn't do anything to change that (design wise or PR wise). This title shouldn't have come out, it's shouldn't have even passed the concept phase, all it did was prove out EA's self-fulfilling prophecy.
