You're wrong. FEAR1 was not forgetable. It was bloddy original when it came out in 2005. Anyone that played it back then will agree that it was probably the best looking game at the time (PC) and gunplay and AI was tight... WAAAY better than gunplay and AI found in Halflife 2 or Doom 3.
Let me guess, you picked it up for 19.99 in 2008...3 years later after other shooters copied its bullet time mechanic, atmosphere and visuals were no longer cutting edge...
As far as FEAr 2, it was the first time that I saw the "console syndrome" ruin a game. The game was dumbed down for consoles...it was much easier, less original and it was compeltely forgetable. The gunplay was still fun and ahead of 90% of other games, but everything else was on par with the norm.
