Pretty sure it'll be backwards compatible.
It'd be even better if a Virtual Console was released for the new system.
One that not only connects to the Wiis VC but also let's you play old GameBoy and GameBoy Advance games. Something that the DSi took away.
This isn't a new idea but if they actually did it I would just die from joy.
I'm betting they will.
