1. 512mb is more than enough on board memory so long as it supports SDHC. (Keep in mind you can buy a 32GB SD card now).

Honestly, I think they'll go at least 1GB, with around 256MB reserved for the OS and system settings/functions.  The reason is, they'll have enough space for at least the largest size DS game to fit into flash (which the way things are headed, will probably be 512MB)... for when they eventually resell them to you digitally. ;)

 

Virtual Console Express, here we come... you can also expect the "Wii3D" or whatever to also have enough memory to load a full Saturn, Dreamcast or GameCube game from it's flash (ie: 2GB+)...
