I imagine MS looks at having FFXIII as a defense strategy. I doubt they ever figured they would outsell the PS3 version. The strategy is likely that they consider every 360 copy sold as a save against someone jumping platforms.

Very true, FFXIII will probably go down as the most anticipated JRPG this gen. Putting FFXIII on the 360 definitely had a negative impact on potential PS3 sales.
