| mrstickball said: Ummm... I just stated that the Wii sold or gave away 9.1m units of software in North America. That is on 2.4 million systems, or under a 3.8 attach ratio, and Japan it's a bit less. I never said that the tier ratio was anywhere near bad for the Wii. Also, I don't believe I had the Wii at a 2.0 tier ratio (Wii Sports + Wii play in Japan are nearly 1.5 of their entire tier ratio right now). What matters is the fact that the ratio is around 3.75 globally. Now, I won't argue if this is a good number or not, because the Wii has sold alot of systems, so it doesn't need a good tier ratio (see Nintendo DS for why). Also, I wonder: If Nintendo said 29m units shipped.....Is that just 29m software titles shipped that Nintendo makes (1st party) or does that include 3rd party? |
I was referring to this comment that you made:
the Wii has 3.4m full-price software units sold, for a tier ratio of around 2.0.
And the point I was trying to make was you seemed to be trying to skew your results in such a way
as to make the Wii's software sales look as bad as you could, first by limiting it to one of its territories, and then on top of that limiting it to only full priced software, which is why I wanted you to address the issue of the Wii's worldwide software sales
Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!
