Natal is just a small part of Microsoft's natural user interface research. They're always looking for more ways to intuitively interface with computing devices.

Other examples I can think of - more interactivity in games via body language and facial gestures, interaction with information sources like Bing maps/travel/yellow pages (see demonstrations from TED), creative applications like art/music composition, social media integration, etc.

Natal was always bigger than just gaming. It'll be interesting to see what will come of it.
