that's the thing, I can't put my finger on it, but their is just something about the game that made me think "Damn this is one game I'll be getting", It could be those sweet female beasts, or the fact that the game tries to be so realistic and yet have such a fantasy twist to it with them bosses, or the fact snake can increase his morale or something by looking at woman in bikinis and after a while he's got to get a new maggazine cause they don't do it for him anymore. |
I'll admit it, MGS4 is what made me finally get the MGS games.
I first experienced MGS with a demo of MGS1 for the ps1. I beat it a couple of times, and loved it. I then rented VR missions. However, I could never afford the game. When MGS2 came out, I wanted it, but vowed not to get it until I bought and beat 1. Same with MGS3.
When I first saw the vids for MGS4, I was like, okay, enough of this BS, and I bought MGS3 for $9.99 at K-mart. I was cool with getting that one first as I knew it was a prequel. I beat it, loved it, and immediately went on Ebay and did a "buy it now" on a brand new, non greatest hits copy of MGS2 for $45. I then surfed ebay for a few days trying to find a new, non-GH copy of MGS1 for a reasonable price, but after a week of only seeing them for $100+, I did a "buy it now" on a used copy for $25. It said mint, and the picture looked great, but the case was slightly cracked. I didn't mind too much, though. I played MGS1, beat it, then played MGS2 and beat it back in July/August.
I can safely say that MGS is now my second favorite series after Zelda. Well, maybe third, after Mario. Either way, it's one of the best!
