Not sure whether having a discussion on VGC about purchasing a 360 at any price would actually be a productive exercise.

The price sounds good, my concern would be if refurbished. As for the network issue I never recommend Wi Fi to many crappy connections for that to be a recommendation. I always recommend Homeplugs if trying to reduce cable clutter or bog standard ethernet cable. I do live in a highly populated area and so may be more prone to interference than most.

You could of course fixate over the price of the Gold Live service by trying to work out how much it will cost you over your life or you could just purchase it cheaply or not at all. It is not compulsory and believe it or not the 360 is perfectly good at playing games with our without it the choice whether you choose to play them online is yours.

Of course you could just buy a reasonable specified modern PC as all the majority of decent games tend to be multiplatform and most would be playable. Their is a certain amount of fun getting the most out of your PC to enjoy all these games. I say a certain amount of fun as this is a very limiting fun experience. The novelty wears off when compared with switch on and play of the modern console.
