I have a question! How come Europeans buy PS3 way more than Americans? We have almost similar tastes except in sport games and perhaps party-type games (SingPop Star is like a flop here). I can understand Japan cuz they definitely have their niche group with videogames, but Europe? I would think after all the shit that Sony did to Europe I would tell them to fuck off. I now believe that Europeans are actually against American made products unlike Japan with this whole issue of them not buying foreign products in some other thread posted a while back.

I think a lot has to do with brand loyalty. For the U.S., most of us are gaming mercenaries. We love our brands, but let the sequel to it come out too expensive or lacking in value, and they will go the other way. I know a few Europeans, and they love the PS brand. They were going to buy it as soon as it hit, regardless of the lack of features. Here in the U.S., some folks will do that, but a lot of us are like 'Whoa! You are charging me what? And taking out some features?!'

Europe and Australia really got shafted by Sony when they released the 60gb PS3 without full BC and charged MORE for it! How did Euro gamers respond? They loved it - and bought several of them. The U.S. gamer - who decided the price for the 20gb and 60gb PS3s were too high - balked, hence the price cuts and carrots dangled to U.S. gamers. The other regions didn't get that. And that's sad. Sony was like 'Take this or else' and a lot of Euro gamers jumped at the chance.

I am still trying to understand that mentality. I used to be like that, but I grew a backbone and started taking a stand.
