Nice post, but there are some things that I don't like. One is that Wave Race was a launch title in all regions if I remember correctly. I think Japan only had 3 games at launch, Luigi's Mansion, Monkey Ball and Wave Race.
Also, the order you mention games is not that great. You mention the 3D Metroid very early, then you mention Metroid 2, and only after this you mention the Wind Waker. This is not chronological... Also, Pikmin, Mario Sunshine and Mario Kart should be mentioned if you want a full picture of important games because Nintendo had high hopes on all three games.
What I would also write is that Nintendo really worked together with third-parties closer than ever, letting them develop games like F-Zero or Starfox for example.
I guess if we go into such details, things should be more detailed on the Xbox side too and it might be too much then, so these are not important complaints. What really should be improved is the chronology in the middle part which I mentioned.
