The GCN was a testbed for many of the concepts that came into fruition with the Wii and DS, there were attempts to try and simplify gaming with the GCN, make it more accessibleto the masses, but they were never to the degree than the Wii and DS have done, which is why I say the GCN was merely a gimped Wii
