oh man 30% of all households is not much? We are talking about 50mio units(some have more than one) you done like to agree that you are wrong right?
For all they buy them because they look cool guys. Of course true for many. But 50% of them have hd tuners etc. Thats still tens of millions. Besides first you need the LCD tv then you can use he signals. So its a neccessary prerequisite.
Oh and CRTs look better? Sorry but this is bullshit they have better colors but crta of the resolution and screensize of normal plasmas lcd weigh 60kg and are not even available. And even when still some samsung hd CRT were available they looked terrible besides lcd with hd input at the bestbuy. Perhaps you could have adjusted the settings but in the end any small advantages would be swallowed by the fact that they freaking weigh a ton and are huge. Modern lcd look awesome and dont need a strengthened floor.

50 million out of how many, hundreds of millions, yeah its not that much, its a fraction of the total amount of TVs and adoption has been slow, and difference is rather small for most people, they can't tell the difference, sorry but you're wrong, it'll be a long time before HD makes a difference
