Well I wish they could do something similar to Diddy Kong Racing in the next Mario Kart. An adventure mode or something.
Also, it seems to me like the Battle mode decreased in terms of fun since the first Mario Kart.
But Mario Kart Wii is still my favorite Wii game so I don't see why they should change a winning formula.
