You have shown your ignorance in the past. No offense, but you were the one to call people fanboys because they believed that NSMB Wii could sell more than 11m in its lifetime.

Reggie is more involved in Nintendo's strategy than you think and what he says shows that he understands the business. Video games are an entertainment business, not a technology one like many people, including you, seem to believe.

Youre absolutely right I did underestimate NSMB Wii's success plus I never said lifespan I said by the end of its first year in market. I can't recall calling anyone a fanboy for thinking so I just said based on sales of Galaxy and NSMB DS it was illogical to think that NSMB Wii could break 11mill in its first year.

That being said Reggie does understand the industry, however it makes no sense to say that HD/3D won't be a driving force. Keep in mind that Miyamoto announced the next Nintendo system would be HD at E3 2006. So obviously HD did play a role, I also have family in IBM who worked on the Wii and have heard that the next Nintendo system was in development before the Wii even hit shelves. Meaning HD definatly was a driving force behind its development.

We all know it takes several years to develope a new platform, they aren't waiting for Miyamoto to say "I can't do this with the Wii hardware" they are waiting for the right timing to release the next console. This is going to sound really fanboyish but their is nothing the Wii can't do, head tracking , 3D , Motion controls, vitality sensor balance board.... what can't the Wii do?

We know that HD was a driving force behind the beginning of the next gen (Iwata and Miyamoto and now Reggie have all continuesly said so since 2006). Innovation is in second place. I agree the next Nintendo console will blow us away but HD will play a larger role then Reggie is saying.

P.S- Reggie is the NOA exec that denied the DS origionally saying their was no new handheld coming. He then also denied the DS:Lite. Now I admit Nintendo has improved its ties with NOA but I think Reggie is all talk, he wants to keep trumpeting that Nintendo will revolutionize the industry again.
