There is a disturbing trend that I have seen going on the past few days in these forums.  Many Nintendo fans have been lashing out at Sony fans because of the release of Sony Move.  I am all for poking fun at each other in these "console wars", but there is is a way to conduct yourselves while doing so.  Making mean-spirited attacks belittling the PS3 and Move is not the way to do it.  Do I see the irony in the fact that Sony is releasing games that look similar to many Wii games?  Of course, I wrote a honest/satirical thread about this subject just the other day called "Sony is in danger of losing it's fans".

What I'm saying is that I can understand the wanting of a release of some sort after being ridiculed three years straight for having the console with the gimmicky motion controls by a certain group and then see that same group basically admit defeat by imitiating what they were laughing at.  What I don't like, on the other hand, is people basically saying, "Sony Move sucks because the Wii Remote was first." (How do you know?  Have you tried it?  Most people haven't)  You wouldn't want to be treated that way by Magnavox Odyssey or Atari fans because Nintendo copied their idea of bringing the arcades home with their video game consoles, would you?

People shouldn't hold anything against a company that wants to play follow the leader.  Someone had to be the first to introduce the motion controller and it was Nintendo.  Now the other two are completely changing strategies in the middle of the generation.  This is their way of conceding victory to Nintendo and admitting that they were right.  We, as fans, should now be celebrating this moment and not taking the time to point at and make fun of those that are not doing as well.  I did not like it when the Gamecube was being made fun of for being a kiddie looking purple lunch box that had no games when it was getting trounced, and I also didn't like when Nintendo basically admitted defeat by dropping to $99.

What I'm saying is that things have turned dramatically in a short period of time and can do so again.  Try to be a little more gracious on top, because it does suck to be on the bottom.  It wasn't too long ago, remember?  Yes, there are some Sony fans that have been jerks, but that doesn't mean that Nintendo fans have to be jerks too.  Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to battle on the front lines; but just saying, "Sony stinks just because I said so!!!" is not the way to do it.
