I've played HD games on both HD and SD screens, and those enhancements do show up on SDTVs.
"On the contrary people do perfer HD over SD resolution any day."
That was not the context of Bambeleo's comment, and your comment should read "some people", since, as noted, the Wii is outselling the HD systems.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
