I'm still buying it, but i dunno, maybe the reviewer was looking for rpg mechanics or varied hack and slash combat.

Supposedly the game has a great story and nice exploration gameplay but a really horrible battle system.

I haven't read anywhere that the battle system was horrible, just too simple. Getting this game anyway.
