I thought that initially too, but upon checking JP trackers have it well below ~250k though... like 150-180k.  

Shipped though.. dont you think? Closing in on 250k could be 220 for all we know. And its not that far from 180k. And the article talks about the JP scene and how some JP dude thought the game was niche, but was closing in on 250k. And later goes on to talk about localization problems. I still think its JP numbers.

Japanese retailers are overly cautious these days, and if you look at Famistu leaks, even 40k excess stock only seems to happen when games bomb.  Actually, going off what we know of DS, the original sold out completely (~160k) and the best version's sold ~22k so far (out of a ~30k shipment).

190k might be enough to be "closing in" though, yeah.  But still, 250k is a bit of a push from that. 

 

60k in the west total doesn't make sense either though, that'd mean HUGE overtracking on NPDs part.
