Haha, that tired ol' argument.
Yes, telling people they can't have your product CAN sometimes make them want it more (see Gmail being invite only and facebook being uni student only at the begining) If you just don't ship enough, then those who weren't looking for a PS3 wont notice. Those who were will either buy a different console, not buy a console at all, or wait and buy a PS3.
