Ther is also no point to push higher ress anymore, 640*480 had 15'' inch monitors then years back, now you have more on 3 inch screens.

but, everything moves forward, I wouldn't mind 720P on a 4 inch phone.

I thought HTC HD2 was already 720p but after some checking it's not. Well HD3 could be, but thanks to the WM7 he won't, since WVGA is now standart... too bad :(
