I have WVGA on my HTC Diamond 2 which is like a year old (sporting Windows Mobile 6.5.x), it's todays standart, higher res than IPhone and pretty much the highest reasonable on mobile sized devices. It's so crips that there isn't room for more details, since the human eye would not be able to recognize it.
Scaling up is a bit worrying tho, from the tech demos on the last mobile conference (where WM7 was announced) were said to be quiete unimpressive (as of now).
